As part of your insurance and compliance with PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) legislation, all employees that use or maintain wood machinery must receive refresher training every 3-5 years, regardless of their previous experience.
WEBS can complete this training, along with assessment and sign off.
We can also complete power tool refresher training. This is not required under PUWER but it is still considered best practice for health and safety.
Fully evidenced and signed off
- All our machinery refresher training includes:
- Photographic evidence
- Signed documents recording full refresher training completed and competency confirmed
- Action plans for if improvements are needed.
In the case of a claim against your business, this evidence will keep your business protected.
Training formats for machinery refresher training:
- 5-7 assessments can take place each day, depending on the machine and user.
- This could be different employees on the same machine, or the same employee across several machines
- Training can take place at the company premises, or at our training centre based on company preference

If the person using the machines is a novice or has no prior experience we would need to enrol them onto a training programme before we would be able to complete the assessment.
Alternatively you may want to consider them for one of our timber trades apprenticeships.
