WEBS attend CFJ Awards to celebrate floorlaying apprentice win

Apprentice winner Sam Shetliffe with WEBS Trainign floorlaying team and CFA director Shaun Wadsworth

It was fantastic to be able to celebrate alongside WEBS and FITA apprentice Sam Shetliffe of Capital Flooring and Blinds at the Contract Flooring Journal Awards.

In June, Sam won the Contract Flooring Association Apprentice of the Year competition, where he was celebrated again as part of the CFJ Awards. As Sam’s training provider, WEBS Training were also invited to join the event.

Helen Davies, floorlaying training co-ordinator and Sam’s mentor, says “it was great to see Sam onstage receiving his award for his success at the CFA Apprentice of the Year competition. Sam has been an exceptional apprentice throughout his course, and deserves to be recognised.

“WEBS apprentices have achieved first and second place in this competition for the last two years which is a fantastic reflection of the quality of the apprenticeship, and shows a bright future for floorlaying.”

The event, held this year on Friday 11th September at Birmingham Conference Centre, brought together hundreds of members of the industry to celebrate the best in flooring, with the 2027 event already being advertised. Floorlaying businesses are able to enter their flooring projects into a number of categories, across different commercial sectors along with domestic.

Sam has no intention of slowing down, where he has already been looking at categories for his business to enter for the 2027, and keep adding to his accolades!

Congratulations Sam!
